Art Study — McKee Botanical Gardens, Vero Beach

Photographed at McKee Botanical Gardens in Vero Beach, Florida, this image was awarded Best Black & White in the 2025 Through the Eye of a Camera juried photography exhibition at the A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery in Fort Pierce — recognition from peers that speaks to what the image achieves technically and artistically. Set against a rich black background, the monochrome rendering reveals the flower's natural curves and the subtle gradation of petals from deep shadow to luminous highlight — an intimate and sophisticated image that celebrates botanical beauty without sentimentality. It presents particularly well under matte acrylic.

The square format and high-contrast palette make this print a natural fit for minimalist and contemporary interiors. Available in three sizes, the composition offers a refined botanical accent with rich tonal depth and delicate petal detail.

Available in three gallery-quality configurations, each in 8×8″, 10×10″, and 15×15″:

Print under Acrylic on Metal: a black-and-white silver halide Ilford print mounted on ALDibond and sealed under matte acrylic, presented in a black 1″ profile Art Box Frame.
Laminated Print on Metal: a black-and-white silver halide Ilford print mounted on ALDibond with a matte UV laminate surface, presented in a black 1″ profile Art Box Frame.
Ilford Baryta Paper: an unframed black-and-white photographic print on Ilford baryta paper, ready for your choice of framing.
