Perfectly Still — Framed Old Florida Fine Art Photography Print | Richard H Knight

Perfectly Still — Wakulla Springs, Florida

Shot around midday when the sun reaches its zenith and the spring-fed waters achieve their most extraordinary clarity, this photograph captures Wakulla Springs in a moment of rare, suspended stillness. The surface acts as a near-perfect mirror, doubling the ancient cypress trees draped in Spanish moss into a symmetrical composition that feels almost surreal. Look closer and the illusion deepens: through the reflection you can see straight to the sandy bottom, the water so clear it seems to dissolve. This is Old Florida as it existed long before development — unhurried, primordial, and quietly spectacular.

The image rewards scale. At 36×24″, the layers of reflection, water clarity, and moss detail reveal themselves progressively the longer you look — a print that changes with the viewer's distance and attention. The cool greens, soft golds, and deep shadows of the midday canopy make it equally at home in nature-focused interiors, wellness spaces, and any room that benefits from a sense of deep calm.
