Natural Curves — Framed Black & White Magnolia Fine Art Photography Print | Richard H Knight

Natural Curves — Vero Beach, Florida

Photographed in the front yard of the artist's home in Vero Beach, Florida, this image captures a magnolia bloom at the peak of its brief flowering — a subject that demands to be photographed and disappears within days. The black and white treatment isolates the bloom's extraordinary form: the broad, waxy petals curving outward from a dense central cone, the subtle texture of the surface catching light in a way that colour photography rarely reveals as clearly.

There is something quietly personal about this image — it was not made on an expedition or at a famous location, but in the ordinary proximity of home, where the best light sometimes arrives unannounced. That intimacy translates to the print: it is a botanical study that feels both precise and warm, formal and familiar.

The square format and monochrome palette make it a natural companion to the Dahlia and Lily prints — equally at home as a standalone piece or as part of a botanical triptych. At larger sizes, the petal detail and tonal gradation are fully expressed; at smaller sizes, the graphic simplicity of the bloom holds its own.

Available in two gallery-quality configurations — a giclée print on Hahnemühle Pearl paper mounted on ALDibond in a 0.4" profile artbox frame or, a silver halide Ilford print under matte acrylic in a 1" profile artbox frame, both with a 75-year guarantee. Full print specifications and materials →
