Echoes of Rain — Framed Black & White Dahlia Fine Art Photography Print | Richard H Knight

Echoes of Rain — Butchart Gardens, British Columbia

Captured at Butchart Gardens in British Columbia, this photograph finds a perfect dahlia adorned with delicate raindrops — a moment of nature's beauty frozen in monochrome. Set against a rich black background, the bloom's monochrome treatment renders the layered petals in fine tonal detail, the water droplets catching light in a way that transforms a garden flower into a study in form and texture.

The timeless black and white treatment strips away color to reveal the dahlia's underlying architecture — the precise spiral of its petals, the soft gradation from deep shadow to luminous highlight. It is a print that rewards close attention, revealing new detail the longer you look. The square format and high-contrast monochrome palette make it a natural fit for minimalist, spa, and contemporary interiors where botanical art is expected to do more than decorate.

Available in two gallery-quality configurations — a giclée print on Hahnemühle Pearl paper mounted on ALDibond in a 0.4" profile artbox frame or, a silver halide Ilford print under matte acrylic in a 1" profile artbox frame, both with a 75-year guarantee. Full print specifications and materials →
