New Arrivals: Five Fine Art Prints from California
Teilen
Five new California photographs join the collection, capturing the San Francisco Bay area, the coastal colors of the Carmel Highlands and the grandeur of the Yosemite Valley. Here's a closer look at each image and the scene behind it.
Nightfall's Edge:
Photographed from the waterfront in Sausalito, Nightfall’s Edge captures San Francisco as day gives way to night. A long exposure softens the bay’s surface, allowing reflected city lights and the glow of the clouds to become part of the composition. Alcatraz and the Bay Bridge balance the scene on the left, while San Francisco’s skyline rises on the right. Together, they create a quiet, contemplative view of the city across the water.
Seams:
Photographed from the summit of Mount Tamalpais on a summer’s day, Seams reveals the layers of landscape surrounding San Francisco Bay. Tiburon, Belvedere, and Sausalito fill the foreground, giving way to San Francisco, Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, and Oakland. Beyond them, the East Bay hills form the distant horizon. The composition brings these separate places together in a sweeping study of land, water, and city.
Starbursts:
Photographed at night from the Marin County end of the Golden Gate Bridge, Starbursts transforms moving traffic into flowing streaks of light. Streetlamps punctuate the scene with brilliant starbursts, while San Francisco’s lights glimmer in the distance. In the foreground, oncoming headlights spill through the pedestrian guardrails, adding another pattern of light to the composition.
Colors:
Photographed from Carmel Highlands, Colors captures a Pacific sunset in which the sky takes center stage. A narrow strip of ocean grounds the scene beneath an expansive sweep of clouds and color. Deep indigo gives way to warmer reddish-orange tones near the horizon, creating a composition defined by the shifting light of the coastal sky.
The Valley:
Photographed from Tunnel View, The Valley presents one of Yosemite’s most celebrated panoramas. El Capitan rises on the left, Half Dome appears in the middle distance, and Bridalveil Fall descends on the right. The scene combines green trees, warm-toned granite, and traces of snow at higher elevations, with the waterfall in full flow. It is a view of Yosemite defined by both its monumental scale and its seasonal details.
